‘Basjoo’
Musa 'Basjoo' is a hardy banana for our area! Large banana leaves with creamy yellow flowers in the summer. Musa prefer moist well drained and fertile soils to produce the large tropical foliage each season. Musa will do well in full sun to partial shade. This variety produces small green inedible bananas and is grown predominately for its tropical foliage. Protect from strong winds as they will damage the large leaves and have them looking tattered and worn. While this variety is cold hardy to -10° you can mulch the roots well after the first frost to protect them in the winter.
